African-American Women in Cinema – Opening Night 2007
African American Women in Cinema was proud to announce its 10th Annual African American Women in Cinema Film Festival (AAWICFF) entitled A Moment In Cinematic History, November 9-11, 2007.
Terra Renee, the President of AAWIC and the Executive Producer of the annual film festival says, “We are honored to enlighten, empower, educate and expand the minds of women all over the world.” Friday, November 9, 2007 kickoff the festival with a Special Presentation & Screening of TALK TO ME. AAWIC saluted Kasi Lemmons as the director starring Don Cheadle at the HBO Screening Room sponsored by Mosaic (HBO’s Asian Employee Network) .
During the 3-day event in New York City, AAWICFF showcased the work of aspiring and prominent women filmmakers of African, Latin and/or Asian descent throughout the Diaspora.
